give me some paper and i'll write you a song
so much of me just wants this new year to be different
things i loved to do, like write songs/stories/poetry, or sing, or do yoga, or take photographs or read (for fun), have just been shelved in order for school and essays and studying and working to come to the forefront, all the while making one very unhappy Laura (hahaha).
i need a change of focus, a new direction. i need to relook at my priorities, and re-examine the direction my life is heading in. i desparately do not want to be one of those people who becomes a 9-5 workaholic who simply forgets who they were in order to 'maximize their efficiency' at their job... i need to do things at my own speed, take my time at life
i've never really been one to make (and keep) new year's resolutions
but
i always note when people seemingly so easily give up on their resolutions. i think there's nothing worse than resolving to do something and like after a week, you give up, just because 'life' (aka excuses) steps in...
the whole point of making resolutions is to change your life, and your lifestyle, according to this new direction you want to take it in.
everyone owes it to themselves to have a little time each day dedicated to the things they love doing...
